In everyday life, people face uncertainty, pressure, and incomplete information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is exactly where Scenario-Based Learning (SBL) makes a difference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead of simply explaining financial concepts, SBL places learners in realistic situations where they must make decisions, evaluate risks, and deal with consequences &#8211; just as they would in real life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a><strong>Why Scenario-Based Learning Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Scenario-Based Learning shifts the focus from <em>what you know<\/em> to <em>how you think and act<\/em>. It is particularly effective for adult learners because it is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Practical &#8211; Learners engage with real-life financial situations such as budgeting, managing debt, or making online payments<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interactive &#8211; Participants actively make decisions instead of passively receiving information<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reflective &#8211; Each scenario encourages discussion, helping learners understand not just outcomes, but the reasoning behind them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Memorable &#8211; Experiences are easier to retain than abstract concepts<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This approach helps build not only knowledge, but also confidence and decision-making skills &#8211; two key elements of financial literacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a><strong>Why It Matters for Financial Literacy<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial literacy is mostly about making choices in complex, often emotional situations-whether deciding how to spend a salary, evaluating a loan, or avoiding online fraud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Traditional teaching methods often overlook this reality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By contrast, scenario-based learning allows learners to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experience financial decisions in a safe environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand the consequences of different choices<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop critical thinking and risk awareness<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build habits that can be transferred to real-life situations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This makes SBL particularly relevant in today\u2019s context, where financial decisions are increasingly linked to digital tools, online transactions, and new types of risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a><strong>Scenario-Based Learning in FINMAN+<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Within the FINMAN+ project, scenario-based learning is at the core of the training methodology being developed for young adults aged 25-30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Partners across Europe are currently working on creating real-life financial scenarios that reflect everyday challenges, such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Managing monthly income and expenses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Making responsible borrowing decisions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigating digital payments and online financial tools<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognising and avoiding financial scams<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These scenarios are further enriched by using learner personas, ensuring the content is relevant, inclusive, and adaptable to different life situations and backgrounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a><\/a><strong>Our Goal<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>FINMAN+ aims to go beyond traditional financial education by focusing on skills, behaviour, and confidence.
